Hello, I would like to ask Maureen Hanson a question please: Thank you for your talk and ongoing work. You talk about a possible ‘genius virus’ being associated with ME / CFS. I am very interested in the role of Epstein-Barr virus because a proportion of ME cases start with infectious mononucleosis. I know that studies have found no significant differences in anti-EBV immunoglobulins between patients and healthy controls, suggesting that there is no active EBV infection, but do you think it is possible that a dysfunctional interaction between the immune system and the latent EBV infection could be causing ME, at least in a subset of patients? Thank you very much.
