TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT during Triple Giving November | All Donations to OMF are TRIPLED through December 2

A biomarker is something measurable in the body that provides a way to identify a specific biological condition. There are several types of biomarkers, but three of the main ones are: diagnostic (finding a disease), prognostic (predicting the course of a disease), and predictive (showing how someone will respond to a treatment).
The lack of an objective diagnostic tool for ME/CFS is a problem for healthcare providers and a burden to patients. Therefore, research in the field is working towards identifying robust biomarkers that can identify ME/CFS and differentiate it from other diseases that look like it in the clinic.
OMF is conducting a large-scale biomarker project, called BioQuest, which aims to find a unique biomarker signature for ME/CFS that can be easily sampled in a primary care setting. Read more about BioQuest here.
